    Puss in Boots Background Concept Art Group of 4 (DreamWorks, c. 2011). This character was introduced in Shrek 2, voiced by Antonio Banderas. He has appeared in three Shrek movies and in shorts. He was to have his own direct-to-video film, but his popularity pushed him to have his own animated theatrical feature film. The film received an Academy Award nomination. This is a series of four concept/background paintings for the Puss in Boots project. They are all from the hand of longtime concept, character designer, and layout artist, Mr. Alvaro Arce. He has been a fixture on the animation scene for over 50 years. This is a series of four detailed paintings showcasing the castle interior, the town and cobblers shop, interior of the shoe shop, and Charles' fishing spot. Each beautiful painting is on gouache on light board measuring 14.5" x 10". RARE DreamWorks early development art! Minor handling and edge wear. Overall condition is Very Good. Each one is hand-signed on the back by the artist.
