Description

Pinocchio Pinocchio and Cossack Puppets Concept Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). "There are no strings on me." Pinocchio's debut as a theater performer is phenomenally displayed in this rare concept drawing. Based on the story The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio premiered on February 23, 1940, as Walt Disney's famous second animated feature film. Accomplished in graphite on a 12-field five-peghole animation sheet, this stupendous concept drawing helped inform the creation of the scene taking place at the 39:27 mark of the movie, featuring our titular living marionette surrounded by Stromboli's Cossacks, measuring an image size of about 8" x 5". The animation sheet is numbered 4 in the bottom right and top right corners, presenting the note "4 - 2 Sc 46" in the bottom left corner. The animation sheet shows normal age-related toning, mild fold creases in the corners, and overall light handling and edge wear from production. In Good to Very Good condition.
