Paul Bunyan Walt Peregoy Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1958). "He found a big Ox as frozen as the snow". This short was directed by Les Clark, Eyvind Earle was the Color Stylist, and the backgrounds for this short were painted by Walt Peregoy (1925 - 2015).This is believed to be a preliminary background concept painting from one of the few winter scenes in this highly stylized short, released on 8/1/58. It is in gouache on a 9.5" x 12.5" board and a very "tight" style for Mr. Peregoy who is better known for a looser, abstract style. He seemed to be painting more in style of background director Eyvind Earle here. On the back is written Mr. Peregoy's home address. Some minor handling wear is evident; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
