DescriptionMr. Bug Goes to Town "Lowlands" Concept Painting (Max Fleischer, 1941). This is a superb early concept painting of the front yard area of the songwriter's house, where the bugs have made their home. This is painted in mixed media, edge-to-edge on paper measuring 11.25" x 8.75", and is unsigned. Notice the matchstick "fence" and abandoned pencil to the right! One can clearly see the influence this "bug village" might have had on the much later cartoon series The Smurfs. This is a nice piece of stand-alone art in its own right, suitable for framing. Very minor hand ling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
