Minority Report Signed Prop Cereal Box and Concept Art (20th Century Fox/Kurtz and Friends, 2002). In this Steven Spielberg-directed movie, as Tom Cruise is working at his computer, he picks up a box of cereal and pours some directly into his mouth. The cereal is "Pine and Oats." In this futuristic thriller, we see that the animated characters on the box are actually "animated," moving around as Tom picks up (and then tosses away) the box. This clever animation was done by Kurtz and Friends Animation Studio (they also did Mr. DNA for Mr. Spielberg's Jurassic Park). Bob stated that they had to go through many, many ideas for a brand name of the cereal as to not imply an actual product. These are Bob Kurtz's original graphite concept drawings for the cereal box, a total of 26 drawings! Also an actual "Pine and Oats" presentation cereal box, signed by Mr. Kurtz is included in the lot. One was purportedly given to Mr. Spielberg. Note the promo for "70th Anniversary ET Magnets" on the cereal box. The final "Pine & Oats" cereal drawing is hand-signed by Bob Kurtz. What a piece of movie history! Fine condition.
