Mickey's Sea Monster Concept Art by Ferdinand Horvath Group of 2 (Walt Disney/Columbia, 1935-38). Here's a pair of great concept drawings; one is from a famous never-completed short that was to star Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Extensive character design work was done by famed illustrator and character designer Ferdinand Horvath (1891 - 1973). He worked at Disney from 1933 - 1937 and had a profound effect on the making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is a pair of his highly stylized character design drawings original artwork. One is on a 12 field 2-peghole animation paper of Sea Monsters for the unmade short, while the second features comical knights on a trimmed piece of studio animation paper measuring 12" x 9". Two images on paper, with an additional knight drawing taped on. It is signed F. H. Horvath 1938. This may be from his work at Colombia. Graphite and colored pencil, with nice image sizes of 5" - 6". Stunning designs and great color. Minor handling and edge wear. In Good condition.
