Description

Mickey's Christmas Carol Scrooge McDuck Little Golden Book #459 Title Page Preliminary Drawing Original Art by Ron Dias, Signed by Wayne Allwine (Walt Disney/Golden Press, 1983). Old Ebenezer Scrooge trudges through the snow in this layout page with a preliminary illustration by Ron Dias (1937 - 2013). Ron contributed to such Disney films as The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The drawing is in graphite and light blue pencil with white paint on onionskin paper, with an image area of approximately 5.75" x 4.5". The paper is hand-signed by both Ron and the voice of Mickey Mouse, Disney Legend Wayne Allwine (1947 - 2009); Mickey's Christmas Carol was Wayne's first film as the voice of Mickey. The sheet is on top of a layout board with photocopy title lettering and is matted with an opening of 9.25" x 10.5", large enough to see the handwritten notes. Beside the preliminary is a second mat that features the published title page, showing the image in full color; this mat opening measures 5.75" x 7.25". The items are framed with glass for an overall size of 23" x 17.25". On the brown paper lining on the backside of the frame is a special surprise - an original signed ink drawing of Scrooge in his top hat by Mr. Dias! This drawing has an image size of 2.75" x 4.25". The preliminary drawing is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
