Description

Mickey Mouse and Pluto Rough Gag Drawing (Walt Disney, 1930s). Mickey Mouse and Pluto are full shorts are full of hilarious gags, and the rough gag drawing in this lot is no exception. Rendered in color pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper, the gag illustrates the two steps of the gag: Mickey and Pluto walking down the street with heads held high, and then crashing to the ground as Pluto fails to see the step in front of him. Each pose is better than the last, whether you're looking at a long version of Pluto snootily raising his nose or Mickey's expression of horror when he's forced to stop mid-step. These gags were sometimes created by the artists at the studio as ideas for a specific short or as one-offs that never made it on screen. Regardless, the two are a nice size at about 7.75'' x 6.75'' and the laughs you'll get from the drawing are priceless. The page has a note reading "Pluto doesn't see step" and is in Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint toning, and areas of wrinkling and debris.
