DescriptionMickey Mouse and Pete Concept Drawings by Bobby London Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c. 1985). Underground Comix's most notorious editions were the two Air Pirates Funnies books from the early 1970s. They featured Mickey Mouse and various other classic characters acting in a very un-Disney manor, and resulted in a lawsuit from the Disney Studios. Who would have thought that Bobby London, who drew the cover of Air Pirates Funnies #1, would wind up actually working for Disney, drawing "The Mouse" himself? It's true, he did work as a freelancer for two years, and here's a set of three concept drawings of Mickey and Pete, drawn by Bobby in the classic 1930s style! These were created with consumer product use in mind, but are great examples of Bobby's ability to recreate the look of vintage Disney. The art is in graphite on onionskin paper measuring 11" x 14", with nice large images. Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear. From the Bobby London Collection.
