Mickey Mouse and Friends Band Concert Preliminary Art (Walt Disney, c. 1960s-70s). Disney artists update Mickey Mouse's classic 1935 short The Band Concert with this remarkable preliminary drawing. It's a large piece -- the onionskin paper measures 18" x 19.5" -- with a graphite and blue pencil image size of 17.5" x 16.75". The blue line grid makes us think this was to be redrawn on a larger scale, perhaps as a wall mural or oversized canvas painting. Joining Mickey on the bandstand is Clarabelle Cow, Donald Duck, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar, Fiddler Pig, and several other animal friends. We particularly like the singing frog in the upper right chair -- such a happy, contented look! The art has handling and edge wear, with some toning of the paper; Good condition.
