Michael Jacksons' Neverland Ranch - "Pirate's Cove" Proposed Theme Park Original 32" x 12" Concept Art by Eric Heschong for Landmark Entertainment (LEG, 1999). This original concept/pitch art was created by Landmark Entertainment Group in the 1990s for Michael Jackson's ambitious Neverland theme park proposal. Rendered in gouache on 32" x 12" illustration board by renowned illustrator Eric Heschong (1950-2013), the piece depicts Pirates Cove, a whimsical waterfront village filled with docked pirate ships and bustling costumed characters mingling with park guests. The scene captures the lighthearted, storybook quality Jackson envisioned for his dream destination-an imaginative, Disneyland-style park built at his Santa Ynez Valley estate. In the early-mid 1990s, Landmark had become a leading design firm in the themed entertainment industry following acclaimed successes with Jurassic Park: The Ride and T2:3D at Universal. Jackson, already operating his private Neverland Ranch with rides and a zoo, approached Gary Goddard and Landmark to prepare a master plan for an expanded, publicly accessible theme park. Landmark's proposals included attractions such as Mermaid Lagoon, Skull Rock, and Neverland Castle, with Heschong's dramatic renderings bringing the concepts vividly to life. This rare, unsigned original is a remarkable artifact of Jackson's unbuilt dream and Landmark's visionary storytelling.
