    Description

Mary Poppins Bert and Mary Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1964). "It's a jolly Holiday for Mary!" Mary Poppins premiered on 8-27-64. It received 13 Academy Award nominations and won five Oscars, including Best Picture! That's the most won by any Disney film. This is an extremely rare piece of concept artwork for the live action/animated song sequence for the chalk drawing scene where Mary, Bert and the children jump into the street chalk painting. Amazing Conte crayon on board drawing of Mary and Bert after the flowers have turned into butterflies. It's at about the 3:53 mark into the song. Peter Ellenshaw was on a team that provided the special effects for this film, especially the mixing of live action and animation. In this piece of concept art, Bert and Mary are standing on the sides of the road that are reversed from where they stand in the actual film. An amazing image of Mary and Bert going down the path as the butterflies fly away after they had come out of the flowers that Bert presented to Mary, as the forest animals look on. Framed without glass, with a matte opening of 11" x 6". Considered extremely rare. Fine condition.
