Mary Blair The Adventures of Icabod and Mr. Toad Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1949). This ooky-spooky piece is one of the largest Mary Blair pieces we have come across! Blair was said to be one of Walt Disney's favorite artists. She was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1991. This is one magnificent concept painting and it features the Headless Horseman and fiery pumpkin head! The bold red and yellow are balanced against the cool blue of the frightened Icabod Crane in this dramatic piece. Blair was credited with Color and Styling on this film, along with people such as John Hench, Claude Coats, and Don Da Gradi. The tempera and watercolor on illustration board painting is wonderfully matted to 19" x 8" and glass front framed to 27.75" x 15.5". It is one of Mary Blair's finest works and in Fine condition.
