    Description

    Mary Blair So Dear to My Heart Tildy and Danny Concept Painting Original Art (Walt Disney, 1949). This film told the story a young boy named Jeremiah and his pet black lamb, Danny. Mary Blair did the art direction and color styling on this film with John Hench and Dick Kelsey. In John Canemaker's book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair: An Appreciation, he writes that Blair's sophisticated application of folk or primitive motifs recalls the work of Grandma Moses. Her paintings for this film displayed all four seasons. This is beautiful concept painting showing Tildy with Danny in a Fall setting. The church that is in many of her paintings for this film is in the background. Art is in gouache on illustration board measuring 12" x 10". The number 54 is written in the top left corner. An amazing color palette in this stunning piece of artwork! Pinholes in corners, minor handling and toning. In Very Good condition.
