    Mary Blair So Dear to My Heart Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1949). John Canemaker's book Magic, Color, Flair - The World of Mary Blair, he writes, "During the 1940s, Mary Blair was called upon to produce inspirational sketches for live-action features that melded with cartoons. As background and color stylist on these films, she made scores of watercolor suggestions for staging scenes." The film So Dear to My Heart told the story of a young boy Jeremiah and his pet black lamb named Danny. Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) along with John Hench and Dick Kelsey, provided art direction and color styling for this film. This is a original Mary Blair concept watercolor painting of Jeremiah, Tildy, and Danny in the forest at night. It's a beautiful image that truly captures the scene. It's in a frame of 17" x 19" with a mat opening of 9" x 11". The art shows light handling and condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
