Mary Blair Peter Pan Big Ben Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1953). "Come on we go! Off to Neverland". With everybody thinking wonderful thoughts, and sprinkled with a little bit of pixie dust, Peter, Tink, and the Darling children head off on their flight to Neverland. This is an original concept/Color Key painting by renowned Disney artist and color stylist Mary Blair (1911 - 1978). It depicts Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, John and Michael as they fly over London. We see them land on Big Ben around the 19:44 mark into the film. It's a wonderful composition with a full moon night hovering just over the clock tower in a deep blue sky. The relatively large gouache painting on 20" x 8" board is both an exercise in detail and simplicity at once and unmistakably a masterwork by the legendary Mary Blair. Minor handling and pinholes in corners. Condition is Very Good.
