DescriptionMary Blair - "It's a Small World" Egypt Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964/66). "There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware, It's a small world after all." On page 93 of John Canemaker's book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair: An Appreciation he writes, When "It's a Small World" moved to Disneyland in 1966, and then to Disney World in 1971, the prolific Blair contributed dozens exquisite collages for building exteriors and new scenes". So popular was this ride at the 1964 New York World's Fair it became a staple of Disney theme parks and is now in Disneyland, Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. Egypt is the theme of this original gouache concept painting by Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) and it features the Pyramids, camels and children of the Middle East on 20" x 9" board. It is in a 30.5" x 20" frame. The painting has pinholes in the corners; otherwise, condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
