Mary Blair It's a Small World Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964). Chapter Six of John Canemaker's book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair opens with Marty Skylar stating: "Walt remembered artwork of children made for Saludos Amigos. He said, 'We must get Mary to do it!' " By that time, Mary Blair had left the Disney Studios and had been working on greeting cards, children's books, and other illustration art jobs. This project was originally produced for the 1964 New York World's Fair. It was so successful that it is now found at every Disney theme park globally. This job inspired her to new heights and may be her greatest achievement at Disney Studios. This is a large extremely rare concept painting of children from the South Seas for the "It's a Small World" World's Fair project. Brilliant gouache colors 9" x 14" on board. In Fine condition with pinholes in the corners.
