Mary Blair It's a Small World Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964). In John Canemaker's book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair, chapter six opens with Marty Skylar saying "Walt remembered artwork of children made for Saludos Amigos. He said, "We have to get Mary to do it!" Miss Blair had left the Disney Studios at this time and was working on children's books, greeting cards, and other illustration jobs. This project, originally for the 1964 World's Fair (and then for all Disney theme parks) inspired Mary Blair to new heights. This may have been her greatest achievement in art. This rare concept painting of one of the "Children of a Small World" is in tempera and watercolor on illustration board measuring 9" x 8". What a combination of color!
