    Description

Mary Blair Cinderella Original Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). "I don't even know your name... how will I find you?" asks the Prince to the midnight fleeing Cinderella. The Grand Duke calls out, "Close the gates... follow that coach!" This is an outstanding Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) original concept painting of the dramatic midnight scene in this film. We see the midnight moon in the sky, casting a pinkish tone over the castle. We see a faint shadow of the Prince watching Cinderella fleeing to her coach. The painting even has a glowing glass slipper on the stairs as she flees to the awaiting coach and team of horses. This is literally seconds before the stroke of midnight. The term "The Art and Flair of Mary Blair" is put to good use in this magnificent one-of-a-kind painting. Gouache on board measuring 20" x 8.5". Pinholes in corners with minor handling and edge wear. Overall Very Good condition. This Mary Blair original has it all: Cinderella, the Prince, the glass slipper, the coach, and the castle. Wow!
