    Description

Mary Blair Cinderella Lucifer and Jaq Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). "Ringgggg..." "In a minute" says Cinderella as she is preparing three trays with cups and saucers to bring breakfast in bed to Lady Tremaine and the evil step-sisters Drizzella and Anastasia. During her preparation, Lucifer the Cat is looking under the teacups for the mice Jaq and Gus. This is an outstanding Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) hand-painted concept/Color Key painting of this scene. A nicely stylized painting of Lucifer, slyly looking at a petrified but always smart Jaq. Great! These characters are rarely seen in Mary Blair's Cinderella concept artwork. Gouache on board measuring 10" x 9". Tack holes in all four corners with light smudging on borders. In Very Good condition.
