Mary Blair Cinderella Dream Sequence Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches... Whatever you wish for, you keep." Presented is a rare original concept painting created for Disney's Cinderella by the wonderful Mary Blair (1911 - 1978). Blair created paintings for every major scene of the film, including some that didn't make it to the final product. Several surreal dream sequence illustrations by Blair never saw the silver screen, but they have become rare treasures depicting what might have been. This is a delightful piece in which Cinderella and Prince Charming float on clouds above the castle, Cinderella serenading the relaxed Prince with a lute under one of Mary Blair's full moons. A calming and happy image in the pleasant blues seen often in the film, it is rendered beautifully in gouache on 8.5" x 8" illustration board. The piece shows minor handling and edge wear with pinholes in the corners. The condition is Very Good.
