Description
Mary Blair Alice in Wonderland Tugley Woods Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1951). An original concept painting from the hand of Mary Blair, showing Alice about to enter the frightening Tugley Woods, with various signs all around that say "Neither," "Right," "Yes," "Stop," "Forward," "No," "Go," and "Here." Jon Scieszka's 2008 Alice in Wonderland book used Mary's paintings throughout, and a similar image to this (but with a different color pallet) was included. This magnificent painting is in tempera and watercolor on illustration board measuring 10" x 7", and really catches the eye with its dramatic colors and shapes. Other than pinholes and handling wear in the outer borders, the art is in Fine condition.Auction Info
