Mary Blair Alice in Wonderland March of Cards Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1951). In the John Canemaker book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair, the author writes "A considerable amount of 'Mary' does appear on screen. The 'March of the Cards,' derived from dozens of Blair small paintings, is as visually exciting as anything in a Disney canon." This is one of those small paintings that Mr. Canemaker references, an outstanding Mary Blair original concept painting of the Playing Cards in front of the Queen of Hearts' Castle. There's an unusually stunning array of color on this gouache painting, on 7.5" x 7" board. Pinholes in corners. Fine condition.
