In the book, Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland Retold by Jon Scieszka with Pictures by Mary Blair is, "Alice found the Mad Hatter having a tea party to celebrate their unbirthdays." Mary Blair played a significant role in this film as a color stylist and designer. This is an outstanding Mary Blair concept painting of both the Mad Hatter and March Hare having tea, as from Alice's perspective of emerging from the woods and seeing the duo for the first time. Great stylized teapot! Gouache on board of 8" x 6.5". Fine condition.
