Mary Blair Alice in Wonderland Alice and the White Rabbit Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1951). Here's a classic Mary Blair (1911 – 1978) concept painting featuring Alice, the White Rabbit and a palace guard. The Disney Legend is best remembered today for her work at The Walt Disney Company. Blair produced concept art for films, such as Alice in Wonderland, The Three Caballeros, Peter Pan, Song of the South, and Cinderella. She also worked briefly on art for Dumbo and an early version of Lady and the Tramp. Though much of her art veers toward abstraction, she was one of Walt Disney's favorite artists. Her style also lives on through the designs for the Disney attraction It's a Small World, to which the attraction is primarily modeled after her art style. This gorgeous Blair original was painted in gouache on 10" x 9" board. The piece has pinholes in the corners from production use with edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
