    Description

Marc Davis "Chanel the Skunk" Concept Illustration Original Art (Walt Disney/Landmark Entertainment, 1989). After a historic career in Walt Disney Studios animation, Marc Davis changed hats and became one of the studio's most important people in the development of theme parks. His work can be seen on so many attractions -- The Jungle Cruise, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of Caribbean, Country Bear Jamboree, Carousel of Progress, The Tiki Room, America Sings, and Mr. Lincoln, to name but a few. After retiring in 1978, he was hired by Global Entertainment and Landmark Entertainment for a series of theme park projects. He worked on the proposed "Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" theme park project that was proposed for Valencia, California. If this original piece of art from the hand of Marc Davis looks familiar, it may be because of his extensive character designs on the animated feature film Bambi. This is a piece of Marc Davis original theme park concept art of a skunk, with a bad cold, named "Chanel," and looking quite a bit like Bambi's friend "Flower." The art is in ink and gouache on paper; mounted to a backing board measuring 15" x 9". Hand-written notes and a signature were added by Mr. Davis. Very nice piece! Minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
