Landmark Theatre Interactive Experience Concept Art by Legendary Designer Syd Mead (LEG, c. 1990s). This rare original concept art by legendary designer Syd Mead was created for Landmark Entertainment Group's proposed "urban entertainment center" interactive theatre experience in the 1990s. Rendered in gouache on 19" x 14" board and framed to 24" x 18", the artwork captures the sleek, futuristic style that defined Mead's career as a visual futurist. In the 1990s, Landmark developed several interactive theatre concepts for their "urban entertainment center" (UEC) proposals, blending 4D media, practical effects, and audience participation. These theatres were conceived as anchors for Landmark's UECs-multi-use entertainment districts placed in city centers, combining immersive attractions, themed retail, restaurants, and live shows. Landmark founders Gary Goddard and Tony Christopher described UECs as a way to re-energize urban cores and compete with concepts like DisneyQuest and Sony Metreon, but with Landmark's signature cinematic flair. Syd Mead (1933-2019), famed for his design work on Blade Runner, TRON, and Aliens, brought his visionary sensibilities to this project, translating Landmark's ambitions into vivid, hyper-detailed imagery. Signed by Mead, this stunning piece is presented in Very Good condition-a remarkable artifact at the intersection of themed entertainment and cinematic futurism. All frames are sold as-is.
