Jack Kirby Roxie's Raiders "Three Singing Longshoremen" Animation Concept Art (Ruby-Spears, c. 1980s). During the 1980s, Jack Kirby "escaped" from comics into the world of Animation. During that time he worked mainly with Ruby-Spears, but also with Hanna-Barbera. His fertile mind created and then pitched many projects that were sadly never green-lit. One of those was the Lara-Croft-esque "Roxie's Raiders". This illustration seems to be for a story titled "Haunted Harbor", and it features three singing longshoremen. Created in pure graphite on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. A stunning work showing Kirby's incredible ability to caricature and exaggerate to get a point across. The figures almost fill the 11.5" x 9.5" lined off image area. In Fine condition.
