DescriptionHong Kong Phooey Layout/Concept Drawings Group of 6 (Hanna-Barbera, 1974). A mild-mannered janitor named Penrod Pooch by day, crime fighting Hong Kong Phooey by night. This beloved cult character was voiced by the great Scatman Crothers and few fans realize that this show only ran for one season. Presented is a pair of original layout drawings by longtime Hanna-Barbera artist Alvaro Arce. Both are rendered in graphite with colored pencil details on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. Also included in this lot are four trimmed roughs of his development drawings of Spot the Cat. The layout of Hong Kong, Rosemary, and Spot features the cabinet in which Penrod changes to into his alter-ego. This is some of the rarest and earliest production art on this short-lived series we have ever seen. Condition is Very Good. From the Alvaro Arce Collection.
