Hong Kong Phooey Consumer Products Drawing by Iwao Takamoto (Hanna-Barbera, 1974). This show premiered on 7/7/74. It was initially only 16 episodes, but became a cult fan favorite, rating its own DVD release. This is a rare Iwao Takamoto (1925 - 2007) original studio drawing of Hong Kong Phooey and Spot, done for a consumer products Cake Design. Mr Takamoto's drawing was based on a rough drawing of this concept by Jack Manning. A copy of Mr. Manning's first pass is included. Mr Takamoto's original artwork is done in graphite on 3-peghole animation paper. Overall artwork is 8". Any and all original artwork of this character is considered very rare. This is a good look into the large and successful licensing of the H-B library in consumer products. Minor handling wear. Overall condition is Very Good.
