Hank Porter - WWII Squadron 22 Disney Insignia (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Preliminary WWII design artwork from the hand of Hank Porter (1900-51), head of Disney publicity artwork and head of the WWII insignia art division, featuring a great image of a seagull perched on a pair of bombs, possibly from Squadron 22, the first Air Force unit to be deployed in the Pacific Theater after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Birds represented the largest single category among Disney-designed insignia behind Donald Duck. Graphite with great yellow and orange highlights on trimmed vellum. The flying helmet and scarf are classic! The paper is trimmed to 6" x 7", with seagull measuring 4". In Fine condition.
