Hank Porter - Middletown Air Services Command Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1940s). An outstanding preliminary design for a Disney WWII emblem from the hand of the great Hank Porter. The art was used for the Air Services Command -- Middletown Branch supply-and-maintenance unit. Bees, hornets, and wasps have aggressive reputations, so more than 50 such creatures were used for WWII insignia. Extremely detailed artwork of a bee performing maintenance with a wrench. Graphite with extensive orange, red, blue, and yellow highlights on trimmed animation paper measuring approximately 10" x 8". The frisky bee stands 5" in wonderful detail. In Fine condition.
