    Description

Groucho and Harpo Marx Concept Art/Practice Drawings Group of 2 (Rankin-Bass, c. 1970). Unusual pair of animator's practice/concept drawings of the two most famous Marx Brothers, believed to be produced for the Rankin-Bass 1970 TV special The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians, although the highly-stylized look of that film would mean these are very early concept drawings. It's also possible these were done for a TV commercial of some sort. Groucho is seen in three full-figure images, with sizes of 4"-5", while manic Harpo is featured in two full-figure images measuring 6" and 5.25". Both are in graphite over red pencil underdrawings. Each is matted, with openings of 12" x 9" and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 19.5" x 16.5". Frames are sold as-is. Art condition is Very Good, with minor handling wear.
