Description

Fantasia "The Pastoral Symphony" Original Concept/Story Art (Walt Disney, 1940). A concept artist working on "The Pastoral Symphony" brought the ancient, picturesque landscape to life with this detailed concept/story art and now you can add it to your very own collection. Rendered masterfully in watercolor, the artwork was created to envision the lake at about 1:18:04 where the faun plays a sweet tune on his pipes, the Pegasi families splash in the water, and the scene gradually transitions to the centaurettes. It's a truly impressive amount of detail created in a roughly 6.75'' x 3.5'' image and breathes life into everything from the orange maple tree the faun sits under to the lily pads and the gleaming yellow glow on the water. Some of these concepts would be put into Leica reels that would test the flow of a scene and the soundtrack and others helped to establish the color palette for a scene. This lot is a miniature masterpiece not only on the front, but on the back as well. The back shows the start of a different color palette with browns, oranges, and blues and a print is included on the back of the 12'' x 8'' Plexiglas-fronted frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear.
