Description
Fantasia "The Pastoral Symphony" 11" x 8.5" Concept Painting by W. Richard Anthony (Walt Disney, 1940). This painting of clouds was created by background artist W. Richard Anthony (1905-1960) in development of the scenes in which Zeus appears in the sky in the "Pastoral Symphony" segment of Fantasia. Included is a typed note reading "Preliminary atmosphere sketch of cloud forms" that was once stapled at upper left to the painting. Labels and signature of the artist are on the back. This painting is rendered edge-to-edge on a sheet of 11" x 8.5" board featuring a layer of varnish. A remarkable piece that would make for a perfect display for a cel to create a Master setup! The painting has mild production handling and edge wear, four holes on the top edge from removed staples, and light surface debris. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
