    Fantasia "Dance of the Hours" Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1940). In this film, one of the fan favorite sequences is the "Dance of the Hours" segment. It features a ballet-dancing ostrich named, Madame Upanova, dancing bubbling blowing elephants, wicked dancing alligators, led by their leader Ben Ali Gator, and the beloved Hyacinth Hippo. This is an outstanding, stunning pastel concept painting of this character. It is drawn on brown paper of 7" x 9" and mounted to a 12 field, 5-peghole animation sheet. It is stamped on back of sheet "Concert Feature" with Seq. 10/Sketch No. /556 Artist Ahrens, and a date of July 11 1939. This film would eventually be released on 11/13/40. Stunning concept art piece! Nice dramatic image of 6". The painting is in a mat of 12" x 14" with a mat opening by 7" x 8 1/2". Minor handling and edge wear. Overall condition is Very Good.
