Eyvind Earle World is Born "Fantasia - Rite of Spring" Color Key/Concept Paintings with Production Cel Overlays Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1955). This may be the most unique and rarest Eyvind Earle Disney art we've ever encountered. In 1955, The Fantasia "Rite of Spring" Section was used to make a narrated educational film strip called World is Born. This film was a mainstay in science classrooms across America in the 1950s and '60s. It would inspire future paleontologists such as Stephan Jay Gould to this profession. This is a rare set of FOUR Color Key/concept art pieces for this film project. The four Color Keys are painted on boards measuring 8" x 6". Hand-painted trimmed cels from this film project are over each of the Eyvind Earle background. All four backgrounds on this Color Keys with cels are hand-painted by Eyvind Earle. The cels depict the Jellyfish and underwater life seen in the "Rites of Spring" section. These incredibly rare pieces come from the personal collection of longtime Disney employee Mr. Joe Hale. There are staples in cels to hold to Color Keys. Minor handling wear. Fine overall condition.
