Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Window View of Crib Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1959). "In a faraway land, lived a king and his queen. For many years they longed for a child. Their wish was granted, a daughter was born, and they called her Aurora." This is the opening account in the 1959 animated feature film, Sleeping Beauty. The film opens with a kingdom-wide holiday for all to pay homage to the new princess. During the "Hail to Princess Aurora" song, the three fairies arrive and each one grants the gift of a wish to the Princess who lies sleeping in her crib next to the King and Queen. She is given the gift of beauty, then the gift of song, but her third gift is not given as Maleficent arrives uninvited. This is an outstanding Eyvind Earle original concept/Color Key painting of the Good Fairies above the baby's crib in the castle seen through the castle window. Stunning detail done in gouache on board. This Eyvind Earle small masterpiece is in a frame of 14.5" x 13" with a mat opening of 8" x 6". This magnificent piece of artwork is hand-signed by Disney Legend Inductee, Mr. Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000). Frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
