    Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Castle Guards Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1959). The spell is on, and the Princess has pricked her finger. The three Fairy Godmothers, not wanting everyone to know Maleficent's words have come true, as Aurora sleeps, have everyone sleeping, including the castle guards. Here those sleeping guards are, in this dramatic original color key/concept painting, from the hand of Eyvind Earle (1916-2001). The subtle swoosh of golden light indicates the Faeries flying above the castle, and the entire pallet of colors is exceptionally beautiful. The art is in gouache, painted edge-to-edge, on illustration board measuring 15" x 6". Pinholes in all four corners from studio use, otherwise Fine condition. Signed by Mr. Earle in the lower right.
