    Description

    Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Castle and Parade Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1959). An open castle widow reveals a passing parade of elegantly dressed ladies with knights on horseback, in this rare oversized vertical concept painting by Eyvind Earle. This is a key opening scene, with vibrant colors framed by the slate-blue bricks of the castle wall. This is one of the largest Sleeping Beauty paintings by Earle we've seen, in a rare vertical format. This was commissioned by Walt Disney for the Disneyland Castle Diorama. The gouache art is painted edge-to-edge on illustration board measuring 10.5" x 24", with a great signature in light blue at the lower right corner. There is minor edge wear and pinholes in all four corners, but this barely distracts from the overall eye appeal; Fine condition.
