Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1953). "But you know something... I fooled them! I have met someone... Oh... a Prince! Well, he's tall and handsome and so romantic!" Briar Rose confides her recent encounter with her friend to forest animals just before launching into this film's theme song "Once Upon a Dream." This is an original concept/Color Key painting of Briar Rose from Disney's feature fairytale film Sleeping Beauty by the legendary Eyvind Earle. It was the most expensive movie the studio had ever made and took nearly a decade to complete. Mr. Earle served as background artist and color stylist for Disney throughout the 1950s and went on to become an acclaimed fine artist in his own right. The 14" x 16" gouache on board painting displays an exceptional use of color and is signed by the artist in the lower right. It is in a 20" x 12.5" frame; frame is sold as-is. Minor handling and pinholes in corners; otherwise condition is Very Good.
