Eyvind Earle Grand Canyonscope Donald Duck and Louie the Mountain Lion Color Key/Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1954). "Start Digging" yells Park Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore at the 6:01 mark of this Donald Duck theatrical short. This is original background color key/concept art of Donald Duck and Louie the Mountain Lion beginning their clean-up to restore the Grand Canyon to its original shape, after they've ruined it! This is from the hand of Eyvind Earle who did backgrounds for this short. It was directed by Charles Nichols and was only the second Disney cartoon to be released in CinemaScope. Gouache on board measuring 12" x 5". It's interesting that Donald is in his Blue Sailor outfit here, where in the film he is in a purple outfit. This background Color Key is hand-signed in the bottom right corner by Eyvind Earle. His shorts work at Disney is very hard to find, so consider this your lucky break! Pinholes in the corners and a "Property of Disney" stamp on the reverse. Fine condition.
