Enchanted Concept Art/Color Key Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 2007). Here's a pair of rare concept pieces from an offbeat Disney movie. "There has never been anything like Enchanted" went the ads. It begins as a traditional, "throwback" animated fairytale story involving a princess with lots of little animal friends, a handsome prince, and an evil queen/wicked witch. But what starts out in cartoon form quickly turns to live action when the evil queen sends the princess off to the "real world" -- New York City, to be precise. These two pieces, one a thumbnail painting, the other a more finished Color Key of the same scene, offers a view of a cluttered library/study. We've not spotted it in the film, so this may be from a discarded scene. The art is in gouache on illustration boards measuring 4.75" x 3.5" (with an image size of 3.25" x 2") and 9" x 6.25" (with an image of 7.5" x 4.75"). The larger piece is signed by Spanish artist Joaquim Royo. Both have black tape framing the image. Fine condition.
