Doug Wildey Storm Island Concept Art Group of 36 in Large Portfolio (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1960s). What a fine and fascinating lot! This is an original, sharply detailed Wildey pitch/presentation portfolio of storyboards (with logotype/title design) for a proposed Swiss Family Robinson-type series that would have been called Danger Island. It is housed in a trifold folio (28" x 60"). It has 36 original storyboard panels (each, 5" x 4" plus captions), rendered in graphite and marker -- superbly detailed. Also enclosed are a title card; a typewritten overview/synopsis; and a loose title card reading, "Years Ahead." The portfolio's acetate inner covers show a few rips. Some of the pasted-down panels have fallen loose, but all are contained within the protective transparent covers. This spread would have been shown to networks, sponsors, staff, and studio executives. An astonishing look into the inner workings of the Hanna-Barbera during a fertile and productive period. Minor handling and edge wear. Overall in Fine condition.
