Don Quixote Concept Art Group of 5 (Walt Disney, c. 1946). Beginning in 1939, the Disney Studios worked for over 80 years trying to bring this classic Miguel de Cervantes novel to life as an animated feature film. These beautiful painted images are similar in style to the preliminary work Jesse Marsh did in 1946, as seen on pages 166 and 167 in the book The Disney That Never Was by Charles Solomon. The artwork is in mixed media on 12 field 5-peghole illustration board; with single images on three boards, two on the fourth, and five small images on the fifth. The image sizes range from 3" x 2" to 5" x 6.75". Minor handling wear. Very Good condition. From the Joe Rinaldi Estate.
