Corpse Bride Black Widow and Maggot Original Concept Drawing (Tim Burton Productions, 2005). Here's a rare piece of concept art featuring Maggot and Black Widow from Tim Burton's stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy film, Corpse Bride. Maggot and Black Widow were dating when Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp) and Emily (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter) were married. During the first half of the film, Maggot commonly makes his residence inside Emily's head, either popping out of her ear or pushing out her loose eye to speak to her or others, much to Emily's embarrassment. Corpse Bride premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on September 7, 2005, and was released in the U.S. on September 23, 2005. The film won the National Board of Review for Best Animated Feature, and was nominated for the 78th Academy Awards® for Best Animated Feature. It won the Annie Awards Ub Iwerks Award for Technical Achievement in 2006, where it was also nominated for Best Animated Feature, Best Character Design, and Best Direction. This stunning piece of concept art was rendered using marker, ink and white gouache on 7" x 9.5" card. It's a fantastic piece of original production-used concept art!
