Description
Coraline Other Mother and Real World Mother Concept Original Artwork Group (LAIKA, 2009). This lot showcases the art of stop motion animation. Here is a series of five fabric swatches for the Mother (one) and Other Mother (four) that were used for puppet clothing reference. Three of these can be seen on page 82 in the Coraline: A Visual Companion book by Stephen Jones. These wardrobe fabric choices are placed with original painted artwork of the characters, assembled on paper, and mounted to black board for presentation purposes. Nice large images of 12" in height. Four pieces showcase the glamour of the Other Mother, while the Mother is portrayed as a bit haggard. Both characters were brilliantly brought to life in the film by the voice of Teri Hatcher. A rare look into the making of an award-winning stop motion animation feature film. Both are in Fine condition. From the LAIKA Archives.Auction Info
