Casey Bats Again Concept Illustration by Retta Scott (Walt Disney, 1954). This stunning piece of concept art was created by Retta Scott during the development of Casey Bats Again, the follow-up cartoon to Make Mine Music's "Casey at the Bat." This gorgeous concept illustration originally came from the Retta Scott Archives, and it depicts two of Casey's baseball-playing daughters (appearing to be Patsy and Coleen). Retta Scott (1916 - 1990) was the first woman to receive screen credit as an animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios, and she worked on films including Bambi, Fantasia, and Dumbo, among others. This gorgeous piece was created in gouache on 12" x 9.5" board, which is affixed to a sheet of 16 field background board. The gorgeous piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including a few minor smudges.Auction Info
