Cabin Boy Original Concept Art by Harrison Ellenshaw (Touchstone Pictures, 1994). A terrific concept painting by acclaimed matte painter and visual effects artist, Harrison Ellenshaw. Harrison, the son of famed filmmaker and artist Peter Ellenshaw, started his career at the Walt Disney Studios before joining George Lucas's effects studio Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), where he produced many of the matte visual effects backgrounds for the film's Star Wars (1977) and The Empire Strikes Back (1980). The concept painting presented in this lot is from the cult-classic film , Cabin Boy, starring comedian Chris Elliott. The film tells the story of a snobbish, self-centered, and arrogant Nathaniel Mayweather, played by Elliott, who is invited by his father to sail to Hawaii aboard the Queen Catherine. In the Ellenshaw concept we see an island in the Pacific. Rendered on board of 9.5" x 17.5" and signed by the artist in the lower left. The painting is in a frame of 20" x 12". Frame sold as-is. Artwork condition is Fine.
